Unique to Michigan and the country, this STEM program blends academic and hands-on experiences.

The academic portion of the experiential program features small class sizes, with a strong interdisciplinary approach that draws on the strength of our exceptional faculty, extensive laboratories and unique 合作社 component.

Courses you would be taking include thermodynamics, 传质, 流体动力学, 过程控制, 微积分, 牛顿力学, 质量和能量平衡. Most of the courses in the core curriculum include a strong laboratory experience, which both enhances students’ learning and hones their abilities to apply technology effectively in the workplace.

In the hands-on, 合作社 program, you will have much more than an internship. You will work with an industry partner – like 通用汽车(General Motors), LG or the federal government – where you can apply what you’ve learned in the classroom and gain high-demand, 专业技能.

The 化学工程 program is accredited by the Engineering 认证 Commission (EAC) of ABET, http://www.abet.org. Enrollment in the program includes nearly 200 undergraduates with about 35 earning a BSCE each year. Each graduate will have attained a rigorous list of skills and abilities preparing them for careers in many related fields.

Chemical engineers apply the principles of chemistry, 生物学, physics and math to solve problems that involve the use of fuel, 药物, 食物 and many other products.

Employment of chemical engineers is projected to grow 4 percent from 2019 to 2029, about as fast as the average for all occupations, 根据美国.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The median annual wage for chemical engineers was $108,770 in 2019.
